 Hi everyone!

We had a very good meeting Saturday morning.

We have constructed a prototype of a temporary battlefield marker. We are waiting for its approval upon which we will build them and place them.

The county is in the process of finalizing the brochures for us. We are going to offer our suggestions to the rough draft of it.

We have plans to place a reader board by the office under the chickee. This will probably be the same board that is on the kiosk on the battlefield.

We have a design for the Banner for the front entrance of the park for when we have events and do our docent program. We will be submitting this for approval to the county next week.

CORRECTION: In the future plans there will be one entrance to the park. Once in the park, there will be separate roads for the two parks.

We need to have a membership drive. If you are currently a member of our group, please get involved. We are going to need assistance in marker and picnic table placement. We would love to see you! If you have friends or acquaintances who care about local history and want to get involved, please bring them to a meeting!

The markers will make it much easier for the docents to give the tours. There is a lot to remember, so the markers will be informational kiosks to help to lay out the tours. The county has told us that we can have picnic tables at intervals to rest.

We would like to have presentations at our monthly meetings. These could be of various Battlefield or just historical topics. Everyone loves to learn! Please give your input on this.

The tours are going great. We have maintained a steady presence in the park on the weekends. THANK YOU DOCENTS!!

Our next meeting will be July 2nd, 2011 at the JUPITER LIBRARY at 10:30
